Highlights from 2020
2020 has been a year most will not be sad to see in the past. But, if there was a silver lining, it was all the wonderful people I’ve met. Through the restrictions, cancellations, and spontaneous ideas to make things work for the best, it’s the faithful followers and unseen smiles behind the masks that make it all worth it.
I won’t let covid overshadow all the positivity hidden within 2020…
I thought it might be fun to look back at what we accomplished in the schoolhouse last year. Very much a rollercoaster, but I’m here to celebrate the victories, and keep pressing forward.
I’ll never forget the feelings we had when we could finally say that the renovations were done. Of course, there will always be updates and fun things to change, but it was nice to say goodbye to the construction equipment.
As soon as we were ready to invite people in, we began working alongside a marketing team to help build our brand and tell our story.
We welcomed our first group of people in for a sweet little bridal shower a few weeks before the shutdowns began.
While still working to raise brand awareness and to introduce ourselves to the community, we spent the next few months hosting smaller get-togethers and sharing our space for co-working and crafting sessions. We even were able to hold a few workshops and classes this year!
We felt passionate about coming up with a way to be a part of the solution for some of the couples who were put through the wringer in 2020 with their wedding plans. We were able to create some amazing packages for couples who just wanted to be married! The best part of this process was the collaboration we experienced with other local vendors. These intimate ceremonies gave us so many reasons to get out there and meet the very talented local makers, bakers, and professionals in our industry. It’s been so rewarding!
Launching a new business in 2020 was an experience we never could have planned for. There were obviously a lot of things that didn’t go how we envisioned. But, when I take a moment and really look back at the year, I’m really impressed with how beautifully The Bellflower was welcomed into this quaint area of Southwest Michigan.
In a year when celebrations were shut down, this community of loyal schoolhouse supporters continued to grow and thrive. We’re so grateful and excited to see what happens when this venue can really open up the doors, and share this space with everyone who’d like to peek inside!
We can’t wait.
Thank you for taking the time to read through our 2020 highlights.
We appreciate you.
